    “Partnering with Chicago Street Medicine”

The “plus 2” weeks on Ambulatory always come as a welcome diastole to the systole of “plus 4” inpatient rotations. They are also a great chance for our program’s Firms to spend some quality time with organizations they care about.

This year the Firm A residents are partnering with Chicago Street Medicine—a volunteer organization also supported by the Pritzker School of Medicine that provides much needed basic medical care, counseling, and supplies to people living rough at homeless communities across Chicago’s south side.

Our residents have also raised money for My Block My Hood My City, which creates opportunities for underprivileged Chicago youth and have joined the Race Against Gun Violence, supporting Strides For Peace.

As part of an ongoing partnership, Firm C is helping to conduct an after school science program for the students at Dulles School of Excellence, who currently have very few avenues for science education.
